Although it may not feel like it here in Utah with all the snow we are getting, the calendar says that spring is just around the corner -- and we're holding out hope! As we are anticipating the flowers and blossoms that will be making an appearance any day now, we want to share some blossoms that are making their own appearance on cards and projects all over. These adorable layered self-adhesive blossoms are from Sassafras and include stitching, buttons, paper, and more! One of the quickest ways to add a touch of detail and hand-crafted feel to your next handmade card, these flowers will have you celebrating spring right now...even if it does take longer to arrive than we'd like!
To see ideas and projects made with these beauties, check out the Sassafras blog.
AND, we have a few packages of Sassafrass Blossoms to give away to one lucky reader! To enter, leave a comment telling us which blossom is your favorite and we will announce a winner on Friday.
We are happy to announce that the CARDS cover contest winner is "Sweet Summer Wishes" created by Jenn Biederman.
It will be exciting to see this beautiful card on the cover of the August 2009 issue. In the meantime, we thought it would be fun to get to know this talented lady better, so we asked her to share a little bit about herself. "I am a stay-at-home mom and work part-time at a local university. I am happily married to my husband, Jon, of (almost) seven years. We have been blessed with two lovely girls, Haley & Emma. From the time I was a small girl, I have wanted to be an artist and work with my hands. Scrapbooking became a part of my life ten years ago and I began stamping/cardmaking a year ago. When I am not spending time with my family or friends, you can find me working at my scrap table. Since I started stamping, I have become a member of the design team for the stamp company Purple Onion Designs. Each time I create a card or scrapbook page, I feel that each button, piece of paper, or shiny new embellishment is the start of a new little piece of art."
Thanks to everyone who entered for sharing your talent with us and also thanks to everyone who voted. Be sure to pick up a copy of the August 2009 issue to see Jenn's cover debut.

Spring is my favorite time of the year. After the harsh winters here, the warmer weather is always a welcome change. I love the smells of the flowers, the sound of the birds in the morning, but most of all, I love the colors that springtime brings. Bella BLVD's new Swing into Spring line is absolutely gorgeous! The colors are bright and cheery. I can't help but think of the cute cards that we could make out of them! I love the big, bold polka dots and the cute tree paper. The whole line is beautiful and inspiring. You can check it out HERE!
